New Sanghvi is a cross between a rural town and a new suburb. It is close to one of the more modern and equipped parts of Pune, Aundh and has some new construction. Houses and condominum-like apartment buildings are mostly 2-3 stories high. They are right on top of each other. When I go out on the terrace to hand up our was I have as many people staring at me as when I walk down the street you see here. (This is the smaller street that is at the back of our apartment.) Notice the open gutter. There is a person who's job it is to clean this out in the sense of keeping it from being clogged. I see him in the morning. Some people have found or purchased their own stone covers. I've seen these sold in masonry shops. |
